"There are so many interesting environmental things happening, even at a local level," Salem Monthly Editor Reina Pike said. "The Green Report is our way of showing readers what is going on and how they can become involved."
The special section offers stories, briefs and a listing of earth day events that are happening locally and throughout Oregon.
Salem Monthly also will cover the Salem Film Festival, which is set for April 18 to 20. Find out which films will be featured and get a sneak peak at a film festival-oriented art show happening at Alessandro's.
Speaking of art, Chemeketa Community College is bringing in a photography exhibit featuring images from the Burning Man festival. Don't miss Salem Monthly's exclusive interview with photojournalist Gabe Kirchheimer.
In other arts news, SM will cover the upcoming Wulapalooza music event as well as hip hop show Conscious Overdose that will feature local and national hip hop performers.
April is National Poetry Month. SM has delved into the written word community and come up with a plethora of events that local poets and writers can take part in. Find out where you can see Oregon's Poet Laureate this month.
As always SM will feature its extensive calendar and listings as well as its Top Five Event Picks. Pick up an issue at your favorite coffee house or restaurant.
