Starry, starry night with a kick
Kathken Vineyards starts its summer music series off with a bang. The Ty Curtis Band hits the stage on June 30 for an evening of blues and rock. What could be better than a night under the stars complete with great music, food, wine, beer and a blazing bonfire? Admission is only $5, and can be paid at the gate. Food from local restaurant vendors will be available for purchase. Gather your friends, load up the blankets and chairs and enjoy yourself at this relaxed concert series. Wine, chocolate and much more
The first annual Wine, Chocolate and More festival is taking place at the Polk County Fairgrounds June 30 & July 1. Local wineries will be joined by specialty food vendors from around the state. Grab a glass of wine and sample distinctive chocolates, pastries and cheeses while enjoying the exceptional talents of local musicians. The affair is sponsored by Altrusa International of Salem and proceeds will benefit domestic violence and literacy programs in Polk and Marion County. The event is open Saturday 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. for persons 21 and older. Admission is $6, payable at the entrance. Polk County Fairgrounds is located on Hwy 99W in Rickreall.
Father's Day celebration in song
Join Willamette Valley Vineyards in honoring all dads, uncles and grandfathers with its Father's Day extravaganza. The afternoon begins with jazz entertainment with Darrell Grant on piano and vocals, accompanied by New Orleans sax player Devin Phillips and Robert Moore on horn, harmonica and vocals.
