The Beaver State is too hot for TVIt's been a bad week for Oregonians on reality TV. America said goodbye not only to Selma resident Kristy Lee Cook on American Idol, but also to Salemite Natalie on Big Brother. As it happens, neither Oregonian was a frontrunner even from our own coverage. Katie Moore has practically begged America to stop voting for her in Idoltude. And you may recall my review on the sub-par Big Brother season, in which I pointed out the flaws of Natalie the bikini barista, along with the rest of the cast of the current iteration of Big Brother.
SURVEY SAYS! Another cheesy game show
Al Roker was announced last week as the host of "Celebrity Family Feud" premiering April 19. The production company behind "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent" has gotten behind the idea. I imagine this means we could be seeing a "family" of Ryan Seacrest, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and The Hoff. If we see them on the same show bickering like a real family, the world may implode. No real celebrities have been confirmed as contestants yet. All proceeds will go to charity.
Returning shows
No new shows this week, but there are some shows returning from hiatus. Tonight, the show that makes grown-ups gag and teenager girls go OMG returns: "Gossip Girl" airs on The CW at 9 p.m. Tomorrow, "Reaper" returns to the CW at 9 p.m. On Thursday, a slew of new shows are back. On ABC, "Grey's Anatomy" is new at 9 p.m. and "Lost" at 10 p.m. The reality TV show set in a tattoo shop "Miami Ink" returns to TLC at 10 p.m., and on The CW, "Supernatural" returns at 9 p.m. On Friday, "Moonlight" returns at 9 p.m. on CBS, giving vampire fans a fix.
