Golden Pond found in Lincoln City
This spring a classic story of a summer getaway comes to the coastal stage of Theatre West. From March 6-29, Director Kaline Klass brings to life "On Golden Pond," a comedy by Ernest Thompson.
For their 48 year anniversary, Ethel and Norman Thayer return to their summer home. Visited by their divorced, middle-aged daughter and her dentist fiance, the Thayer's are then left with his teenage son for the summer when the couple jets off to Europe.
A surrogate grandchild for Ethel and Norman, the relationship becomes a give and take of age-appropriate advice.
Norman experiences a health scare toward the end of the summer, which brings he and Ethel closer together. As Theatre West describes, "Time, they know, is now against them, but the years have been good and, perhaps, another summer on Golden Pond still awaits."
Ticket prices for the performance are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, while children under 12 are $7.
Shows are every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8 p.m.

Majestic hosts gala event for “Chicago”
A dark shadow is cast across the mid-western town in the 1920's as corruption, jealousy, and ‘all that jazz’ land two women in prison accused of murder. The musical tale that follows their stoy is set to take the Majestic Theater’s stage in Corvallis this March.
Presented with urban inner-city inspirations, the theater has scheduled a special opening show for the production’s spring run.
On March 20, a benefit opening gala is set to kick-off the musical. Much like the play itself, the gala is means to experience an evening of “food, fun, friends, and music” according to theater staff.
Beginning at 6 p.m., the event features live pre-show music with catered champagne and hors d’oeuvres. Following at 6:15 p.m., speeches and introductions are made by MTM Executive Director Tim Flowerday, Guest Director Jonathan Pedersen, and local historian John Elliot.
All eyes turn to the stage at 7:30 p.m. for evening’s live performance. Tickets for the gala are $50 and available for purchase through the box office, on-line, and at the door.
