Hooray. The writer's strike is over and all is well in the TV world. Except history may repeat itself when the Screen Actor's Guild reaches the end of its current contracts with the TV and movie studios. A group of superstars (George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro) have come out recently urging SAG and the studios to begin early negotiations for contract renewal. This one is just getting started, but we will be following it here at WillametteLive.comBut for now, let's talk about what is coming back this season and what you couch potatoes will have to wait for.
"24" - Not expected to return until January 2009. Yes, you read that right. FOX and the producers of the show have said that they want to run all the episodes concurrently. It's not clear why they didn't make room in the fall schedule for it.
"30 Rock" - New episode April 10.
"Back to You" - New episode April 16
"Battlestar Galactica" - New episode April 4
"Big Bang Theory" - New episode March 17
"Burn Notice" - Season 2 could start airing as early as July
"Chuck" - No new episodes until fall season
"CSI" - New episode April 4
"CSI: Miami" - New episode March 24
"CSI: NY" - New episode April 2
"Desperate Housewives" - New episode April 13 (with a two hour finale for this season)
"Dirty Sexy Money" - No new episodes until fall
"ER" - New episode April 10
"Friday Night Lights" - No new episodes this season. Next season has not been ordered.
"Gossip Girl" - New episode April 21
"Grey's Anatomy" - New episode April 24
"Heroes" - No new episodes until fall
"House" - New episode April 28
"Jericho" - Six episodes yet to air, no additional planned
"Journeyman" - Canceled.
"Las Vegas" - No new episodes this season
"Law & Order" - New episode on April 23
"Law & Order: SVU" - New episode on April 15
"Life" - No new episodes until fall
"Lost" - Schedule will continue as planned
"Moonlight" - Four new episodes on April 11
"My Name is Earl" - New episode April 3
"The Office" - Four episodes are already shot which will last until March 18. New episodes will start up again April 14.
"Pushing Daisies" - No new episodes until fall
"Reaper" - Small break in new episodes between March 27 and April 22 to finish this season
"The Riches" - Second season starts March 18
"Saturday Night Live" - Back this Saturday with guest host Tina Fey
"Two and a Half Men" - New episode March 17
"Ugly Betty" - New episode April 24
