"P.I.D.G.E.: My Life as an Acronym," an autobiographical solo show written and performed by San Francisco-based actress Pidge Meade, chronicles the story of how the five letters that make up her nickname also represent the major milestones of a circuitous life journey from childhood to middle age.

By turns both humorous and poignant, the show covers many universal themes, including a search for authentic identity, the pursuit of artistic dreams, and struggles with body image.

Salem Repertory Theatre will offer "P.I.D.G.E.: My Life as an Acronym" as a staged reading on March 28 and 29 in the Reed Opera House. Company member Ted deChatelet directs. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. The show is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5. All proceeds will benefit the SRT lighting fund.

In April, SRT will offer another staged reading, this time of Michael Frayn's semi-fictional Tony Award-winning "Copenhagen."

This show is directed by SRT company member Michel Philips and features three acting company members: Raissa Fleming, Tom Nabhan, and Jon St. Nicholas.

Readings of "Copenhagen" are also free with a $5 donation and will be held April 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6 at 2 p.m. at the Reed Opera House. For information on both performances visit salemrep.org or call (503) 302-8907.

Salem Repertory Theatre is the only professional theatre company. Its mission is to create professional theatrical productions of the highest standard; challenge artists and audiences with plays of depth and vibrancy and provide an artistic home for a diverse company of theatre professionals.
