Real estate jingles are commonplace in commercials, but what other talents lie behind closed doors? While the real estate market may be suffering, Salem Association of Realtors Community Fund seeks to give back to the community in need by hosting a talent showcase.

"Expect the Unexpected- A Night to Give Back" takes place on October 11 at the Historic Elsinore Theater in Salem.  Performers and guests will be given star treatment. A red carpet will be rolled out at 7 p.m. with the event set to begin at 8 p.m.

The community fund is a nonprofit organization so the $15 tickets are tax deductible.

"We tried to keep the price reasonable so we can have a great turnout. All proceeds from this event will be given to local non-profit organizations in the form of grants," Executive Vice President of the Salem Association of Realtors Marlene Scully said.

Salem Association of Realtors Community Fund gives grants to local organizations such as YMCA and Family Building Blocks.  A grant period is open now, so proceeds from this event will be given to one or more organization that apply.
Family friendly in nature, the fundraiser will feature 17 acts.  All talents are coming from the real estate world and will be singing, playing instruments, presenting skits, dancing, and showing off comedy chops.

"We thought it would be fun for the realtors to show us their talents and to raise funds because the need is great in our community," Scully said.
The fund's goal is to make the event a success so they can actually allow more grants to more people. Attendance is hoped to reach 500.

"This is our first event of this magnitude. We hope it will become annual," Scully said.
Tickets can be purchased the The Elsinore Theater, online at elsinoretheater.com or through Tickets West.
