Salem Multi-Cultural Institute seeks talent acts

The Salem Multi-Cultural Institute is recruiting performers for a December concert at the Reed Opera House. They are seeking acts representative of Winter Holidays from Around the World.  
The performances will coincide with an exhibit being displayed in Reed Opera House, and will be scheduled over a four week period. Concerts will occur on December 1, 8, 15, and 22.

The Multi-Cultural Institute is accepting video and CD submissions, as well as scheduling live auditions, and asking that the applicants remember that the focus of the concert is internationality. They are seeking performers, who like them, have a passion for exposing the public to a variety of cultures.

Salem Repertory Theatre to offer free workshops

The Salem Repertory Theatre will offer free workshops to the public during their upcoming theatre season. Dates and details are yet to be finalized. SRT is planning a stage combat workshop led by Ted deChatelet in October, an acting workshop lead by Artistic Associate Susan Coromel tentatively set in January, and a directing workshop lead by Artistic Director David Janoviak tentatively set in March.

The workshops are being offered free of charge as a way for SRT to promote the art of theatre to the community.
