DALLAS

Summerfest
July 19-22 the Dallas Chamber hosts a citywide, 4-day event that offers something for everyone.  July 19-21 the Courthouse Lawn holds 60 booths of food, novelty drinks, commercial, retail and craft/art vendors. Entertainment for all ages, waterball, vehicle rescue competition, fun run, library book sale, triathlon, teen concert and more. Sunday the focus shifts to the City Park where you can have Breakfast in the Park and visit the Car Show with over 400 vehicles. Across the creek there's Art in the Park and the Arboretum will give you a tour of the gardens. Info: dallasoregon.org

MONMOUTH/INDEPENDENCE

Western Days
July 1 is Hometown Appreciation Day, and will have its own fireworks show.  July 1-4 includes a carnival, vendor booths and activities at Riverview Park as well as evening entertainment at the amphitheater. July 4 pancake breakfast 6 - 11 a.m. at the Monmouth fire station. July 4th festivities begin with a children's parade at 11:30. Western Days finishes on July 4 with a huge fireworks show at dusk.

MT ANGEL

Mt. Angel Oktoberfest
Sept. 13-16 "Share the Harvest Joy" at the 42nd annual Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. The festival features food, craft booths, music, dancing, car show, and a fun-filled, free children's area. Info: (503) 845-6882, oktoberfest.org

SILVERTON

First Friday
Every first Friday of the month 7 - 9 p.m. stroll through downtown Silverton and visit art galleries, antique shops, restaurants and boutiques. Look for bright blue and green flags at participating businesses. Info: (503) 873-5615

Second Saturday Wine Tours
Every second Saturday of the month 12 - 5 p.m. visit boutique wineries. Meet with the owners while sampling wine and food. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the East Willamette Valley where quality wines are created. Info: (503) 873-8475 or eastvalleywine.com

Saturdays 4 Kids
June through August children are invited to participate in Saturday 4 Kids at the Oregon Garden. Each Saturday has different activities for kids to learn about including bugs, flowers, birds and more. Info: Oregon Garden

Saturday Night Sunsets
Every first Saturday of the month through September, 5 - 9 p.m. at Havenhill Lavender Farms. Bring a picnic and a blanket, enjoy wine tasting and live music. Admission $5, kids under 12 free. Info: (503) 873-0396, visit Havenhill Lavender Farms.

Al Faussett Days
July 7-8 Historic Silver Falls Days 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Silver Falls State Park, South Falls Lodge and surrounding day use area. Learn about life at Silver Falls in the early 1900s when the park was a city. Partake of pies and biscuits made the Silver Falls City way. Hear the story of a daredevil who challenged South Falls, and enter in the "canoe race" to commemorate his feat. Homer Davenport Days

Silver Falls Star Party
August 11 join Silver Falls park staff and astronomy club members for a night of stargazing at Silver Falls State Park's Old Ranch 9 p.m. - 12 a.m. Learn about constellations, nebulas, and other heavenly sights. Silverton Fine Arts Festival
