According to the Marion County Elections office, all registered Marion County voters should have received a ballot by now.  If not, you can contact the Marion County Elections Office at (503) 588-5041 or 1-800-655-5388.  Ballots must be received at an Oregon County Clerk's Election Office or an Official Ballot Drop Site by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday May 20. Postmarks do not count in Oregon.

For those who want to vote over the weekend. The Willamette Humane Society ballot drop site at 4246 Turner Rd SE in Salem is open noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Curbside service has moved to the Marion County Courthouse. It will be available only Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The election office at 4263 Commercial St SE in Salem will be open for park and walk-in service only. This office and all official ballot drop
sites will be open until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

The elections office warns that hundreds of ballots have been returned as undeliverable due to voter address changes. Ballots cannot be forwarded. A voter missing such a ballot can get a new ballot at the election office of the county where they now live before 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters can also get a replacement ballot for a lost, spoiled or damaged ballot.

The elections office also recommends that you check to be sure that your ballot envelope is signed before mailing or placing it in a ballot drop box.

All Marion County Drop Sites are open normal business hours and will remain open Election Day, May 20 until 8 p.m.

Oregon is the Smartest State (#1)

WHY doesn't the WHOLE nation vote like Oregon?

In Caucus States, housebound & bedbound voters are forbidden the vote-by-mail Absentee Ballot. I will always hear 82-yr-old Ruth's voice, "Just because I'm sick, doesn't mean I can't think." She had had a lingering pneumonia for four months. Every 8th of the 2400 volunteer phone calls I made into Caucus States got me Lorna, "Oh no, dear, I can't caucus, I'm a cripple." (I didn't say we don't use that word any more. When you're that vulnerable & venerable you can say what you want about yourself.) I was so shocked at the epidemic of older women who are housebound by a terrible fear of falling. No ride helps these citizens. Only a vote-by-mail Absentee Ballot.

The Caucus System forbidding Vote-By-Mail Absentee Ballots has twisted history.(16% swing in Texas between Absentee-Balloted primary & the Voters-Suppressing Caucus on the same day.) SUPPOSE we had ONLY seen the Caucus Results in Texas? THAT'S what happened in Iowa all those other Caucus States!

So don't be fooled by the false Math. Hillary would be the clear choice of the voters if they had all been allowed to actually vote. Florida, Michigan, Caucus Voter Suppression. By my life & sacred honor, I never imagined that votes would be suppressed on such a massive scale with the indifference of my beloved Democratic Party.  Since JFK was shot down on my 19th birthday, I've fought for the only equality we are guaranteed in our America -- one voice, one vote. Apparently tho, I see now, it is the Will of Only the Healthy People.

Thank you Oregon for being SO far ahead of the rest of us. I hope you give Lorna & Ruth a voice and vote for Hillary's farsighted vision for America's Green Future and an actually Universal HealthCare Plan.

Terrorist Fundraisers for Obama
By Patrick Poole
Two years ago, Hatem El-Hady was the chairman of the Toledo, Ohio-based Islamic charity, Kindhearts, which was closed by the US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its assets frozen. Today, El-Hady has redirected his fundraising efforts for his newest cause - Barack Obama for President.

El-Hady has his own dedicated page on Barack Obama's official website, chronicling his fundraising on behalf of the Democratic Party presidential candidate (his Obama profile established on February 19, 2008 - two years to the day after Kindhearts was raided by the feds). Not only that, but he has none other than Barack Obama's wife, Michelle Obama, listed as one of his friends (one of her 224 listed friends).

I think Senator Kennedy should go with his doctors on that diagnosis. I'm sure he appreciates your help.
