While there are only two movies new in theatres this week, they hit completely different genres. So whether you're looking for a zombie action fest with a lot of sweaty Will Smith, or need a movie to take the kids to in order to after a busy day of holiday shopping, Hollywood is here to help."I Am Legend"
A story about a man and his dog ... and a man-made virus that has turned all humans into a cross between a vampire and a zombie. Will Smith stars in this remake of Charlton Heston's "The Omega Man." Left for years with only a CB radio and his canine companion, By day Smith hopes to find other uninfected humans as well as a cure for the virus. By night, his only goal is to survive.
"Alvin and The Chipmunks"
Jason Lee stars as Dave Seville in this remake of the old TV show. The chipmunks are voiced by Justin Long (Alvin), Matthew Gray Gubler (Simon) and Jesse McCartney (Theodore). David Cross costars as Ian, Dave's former college friend who has gone on to become the sleazy owner of a recording company. Dave, an unsuccessful songwriter, discovers the talking Chipmunks and has them sing his songs to his recording company contact. As the Chipmunks hit it big, greed overtakes Ian and he tries to separate the chipmunks from Dave. Read the full review here.
