"Diary of the Dead"A bunch of no-name film students played by no-name actors are making an independent horror film when they become trapped in a world that zombies are consuming -- literally. One of the filmmakers documents the horror, and thus, "Diary of the Dead" is created. When the big names in the movies are the director (George Romero) and voices (Quentin Tarantino, Guillermo del Toro, Wes Craven, and Stephen King) you know there might be something off about the film. On the other hand, Romero is the king of zombies.
"The Flock"
Claire Danes, Richard Gere, Avril Lavigne? How did this movie go straight-to-DVD? Gere stars as an employee of the public safety department who has to track down a missing girl, who he believes may be connected to a case that he's working on.
"National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets"
Nicholas Cage is back in the sequel to the original Disney hit "National Treasure." Sure, Nicholas Cage isn't raking in the Oscar gold for his performances lately, but you've got to give it to the man that he continues churning them out. And the studios are reaping the benefits, even with Cage's now-trademarked wooden acting. In "National Treasure 2," Cage sets out to clear his family name, which has been sullied by being connected to Abraham Lincoln's assassination. Ed Harris, Diane Kruge, and Helen Mirren (Yes, the fabulous Helen Mirren) co-star.
"Strange Wilderness"
You may recall that I professed my man-love for Steve Zahn during the theatrical release of "Strange Wilderness." Needless to say, my man-love will not help your overall box office totals. Sorry, Tom Cruise. A short run in theatres left this film with less than $7 million, despite the cast of Steve Zahn and newly dubbed overweight funny guy, Jonah Hill. Zahn stars as the son of a great wildlife show host, who takes over for his dad only to run the show into the ground. To save the show, the crew of the show decides to go on the hunt for Bigfoot.
