Marion County officials have established a website dedicated to providing weekly relocation updates, the structural remediation project summary, Courthouse Square project history, press releases and frequently asked questions.
Commissioner Patti Milne said in a release, “We encourage community members to visit our website regularly for updated information about Courthouse Square. New information is added to the frequently asked questions, or posted on the web page as it becomes available.”
Relocation has already been completed for a number of county offices. The District Attorney Support Enforcement Division is now on the fourth floor of the Oregon Building located at 494 State St. The tax office has reopened at 1115 Commercial St. NE.
To make room for the District Attorney Criminal and Victim's Assistance offices, the Clerk's Office Licensing and Recording Division will move from the County Courthouse to 1115 Commercial Street NE, Salem. The Marion County Clerk's office for licensing and recording is planned to be open at the Commercial St. address with full operations by September 8.
The Clerk’s Office Elections Division, located at 4263 Commercial St. SE, is unaffected by the move and will remain open during normal business hours. The Board of Property Tax Appeals (BOPTA) will be relocating with the Clerk’s Office Licensing and Recording Division to 1115 Commercial Street NE.
The new website can be accessed at co.marion.or.us/BOC/csi.htm. The Board of Commissioners’ Office can be reached by e-mail at commissioners@co.marion.or.us or by calling (503) 588-5212.
