Senator John McCain is being projected as the Republican nominee after picking up wins in Rhode Island, Texas, Ohio and Vermont. Former Governor Mike Huckabee has dropped out of the race, allowing Republicans to rally behind their chosen candidate.

In the Democratic race, Senator Barack Obama won the first contest called in Vermont. But Senator Hillary Clinton picked up Rhode Island, Ohio and Texas primaries. The Texas Democratic Caucuses which holds 67 delegates is still pending. Texas Democrats are reporting complaints over the caucus process.

Hector Nieto, the state's party communications director told CNN, "It is important to understand when you see a turnout in these numbers you are going to witness some problems, and the Texas Democratic Party has taken all the steps it can to make sure the process is run as smoothly as possible."

The turnout in early voting alone has already surpassed previous early voting records. Reports from the local media indicate that polling locations were "crushed" with voters. It's not clear when the caucus results will be released, due to the "irregularity" problems. Local voters in Texas are being urged to contact a call center with any complaints of irregularities. The number to call is 1-800-DEM-3254.
