Love is in the air and Valentine's Day is just around the corner. You could go buy the typical candy and flowers for your date, but is that what she REALLY wants? And does HE really want another pair of silk boxer shorts with hearts on them? Probably not. You could invest in a pair of tickets to Rome and spend the weekend rekindling your romance that way, but perhaps your pocketbook can't quite handle that right now. Here are a few suggestions that will sweep her (or him) off her (or his) feet and won't leave you feeling like you blew your wad (so to speak).
Idea #1 - Fast food and a decadent dessert. V-day falls in the middle of the week, so what better way to celebrate than by NOT cooking. Light some candles. Set the table. And treat her to a fun and simple dinner of her favorite fast food. Then surprise her with a truly decadent dessert from her favorite bakery. Or try your hand at making something. For a simple dessert with lots of flair, fill a bowl with chocolate pudding and top with your favorite fresh fruit and whipped cream. Easy and soooo good. Plus, there's all sorts of possibilities for the leftover whipped cream ...
Idea #2 - Indulge in spa treatment. Be her Sven for the day - complete with long blond hair and muscular upper body, of course. Make your own massage oil by mixing a little bit of olive oil with a little bit of vegetable oil and adding a few drops of cinnamon (an aphrodisiac!) oil. Have her lie down somewhere comfy and give her a full body rub - including feet. Hopefully, she'll probably return the favor!
Idea #3 - Party like it's 1999. Hit iTunes and make a CD with all "your" songs on it. Don't have a particular song? Here's a quick list of some love songs that will get you slow dancing. Pop in your CD and dance the night away ... maybe after a nice fast food dinner and decadent dessert. Suggested song list: "Love Me Do" by The Beatles; "I've Got My Love to Keep Me Warm" by Billie Holiday; "To Make You Feel My Love" by Billy Joel; "A Groovy Kind of Love" by Wayne Fontana; "I Just Called To Say I Love You" by Stevie Wonder; "The Best of My Love" by The Eagles; "I'm So In Love With You" by Al Green.
