But good for Brooke. Now she can go home to Arizona (apparently on the opposite shore of L.A., who knew?) and concentrate on perfecting her Wiggles audition.

Syesha Mercado was the other contestant who found herself in the Bottom Two tonight, and a bit of a surprise, considering she did sing better than Jason. But, alas, her eyes just aren't as dreamy as his. It took Syesha until the Top Six to "find her stride" as Randy said, so she should be thrilled she's gotten this far. She should also expect to go home in the next week or two.  

Other excitement in tonight's episode included Simon's childhood sweetheart calling into the show and asking which was more memorable, their first kiss or the kiss he shared with Paula. Also Natasha Bedingfield offered to go to prom with David Archuleta, cementing his place in the Quiet Nerdy White Boy Hall of Fame. Good for him. Word of warning to Natasha, though: he's a Mormon, so he'll probably be a really boring date. Pack a flask.
