So according to yesterday's Idoltude column, I'm batting at about 25 percent. Ouch. But the only real surprise from tonight's show, though, is Alexandrea Lushington, who in all fairness deserved to stay around at least longer than Kady Malloy. But I guess a Britney impression will take you farther than I realized.Alaina Whitaker appeared completely blindsided by the vote, and was barely able to sing her way out. She should have had a clue though after last night's debacle.
Jason Yeager said he expected to be kicked off, and handled it pretty well. Why do they make them engage in such awkward chat, though? The poor guy was mortified as it was. Is it REALLY a good time to ask him what he learned?
Robbie Carrico leaving was a pleasant surprise. I had pegged Luke Menard as the other boy to hit the road, but I was pleased as punch to see Robbie go packing. I had kind of assumed that he would have a loyal following of yappee little girls who dug his Axl Rose look (which, by the way he totally could NOT pull off).
So where does this leave us for next week? First of all, we must endure another performance by the lovely Kady Malloy. As if that weren't bad enough, Hot-Turned-Scary Nurse is a complete wild card. New today in her hair department: extensions. Tell me, do we really need more of that god-awful rat's nest? How is it that in auditions she showed so much promise, but now she's a circus freak? VoteForTheWorst.com has taken up her cause, so she may be around for the long haul.
Meanwhile, with the guys there's still good ol' Luke Menard. Danny Noriega has been pin-pointed by VoteForTheWorst.com, but he isn't nearly the train wreck that was Sanjaya. In fact, I like Noriega and hope he sticks around. The show can use a little gay energy.
