The Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum is hosting a number of events in October that should prove to be fun for the whole family.

Voyager Commander, Dick Rutan will speak on October 18 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Aviation Museum. The Voyager flight departed from Edwards Airforce Base in California in December 1986 and took a historic non-stop flight around the world without refueling. Rutan served in the United States Air Force and has received numerous commendations for his service. He was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 2002.

On October 19 at 1 p.m., the sixth annual Hall of Honor Ceremony will induct four new honorees. The inductees are Lieutenant Colonel James McRoberts Dixon, Major General David M. Jones, Major General Charles A. Sams and Evergreen International Aviation Chairman, Timothy G. Wahlberg. Dick Rutan, Voyager Commander, will be the keynote speaker.

The veterans of the 101st Airborne Division, 506th PIR, E-Company, who were depicted in the critically acclaimed HBO mini-series "Band of Brothers" will join Evergreen Aviation Museum members for an exclusive event.

Celebrate Halloween early at the Museum on October 25 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The event will include Halloween crafts, a costume contest and a book reading, concluding with trick or treating in the Space Museum. A petting zoo will also be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

For additional information on any of these events, or to become a member of the Museum, visit sprucegoose.org or call 503-434-4185.
