Salem Monthly Newspaper's March edition will offer the biyearly Diner's Dish, a pull-out feature that covers dining options throughout the Willamette Valley. It includes stories, reviews, and a complete listing of local restaurants.

"It's a diner's guide to eating out in Salem and surrounding areas," Editor Reina Pike said. "It will remind you of all the great restaurants that are out there and hopefully give you some new ideas, too."

Pike and the editorial team have been working throughout the month on gathering restaurants and information for the guide.

"We want it to be as complete as possible," Pike said.

Many people use the Diner's Dish as a guide throughout the year. Marjorie Preszler is looking forward to getting her hands on the updated version.

"I hold onto it all year," she said. "It goes right next to my phone book."

Her favorite part is the listings, but she also enjoys the stories.

"The reviews give me ideas on new places and foods to try."

Last year, one group of women took the guide and tried all the places featured as part of their book club. Each time they read a new book, they tried one of the featured restaurants.

However you might want to use it, very soon the latest Diner's Dish will be available. We'd love to know how useful -- or not -- you find it to be. Send an e-mail to editors@salemmonthly.com to offer your feedback.

Pick up a copy of Salem Monthly Newspaper at your favorite restaurant or coffeehouse.

Happy dining!
