When the Duafa Project came to an abrupt end last July, it was an unfortunate loss for the Salem music scene. That's why we got so excited when we saw the trio's name listed as one of the acts on an upcoming bill.
This isn't so much a reformation, according to band namesake Mitch Duafa, as it is a "revisit." The guitarist says he "thought it would be fun to play those songs every now and again." That led him to reteam with Chris Laswell and bring in drummer Dan Cuffe.
While he's also investing time in The Worrynauts, which pairs him with Peter DeGroot, Duafa says that his main focus is Breviamor. Although the group took a hiatus after its first couple of shows, its back and has a show coming up on Mitch's birthday, June 9. Opening that show ... the Duafa Project.
