Beginning October 1, Salem YWCA and Chemeketa Community College's Center for Business and Industry will offer a 9-month coaching program, "Women Leading Women."The leadership development series provides women with the opportunity to explore areas of professional and personal growth. Leading the class is a skilled coach who will help each group to identify what is limiting their leadership ability.

"We are excited about this program because it focuses specifically on women's leadership development, something that is not currently being offered in the Salem area," Christine Watson, project coordinator at Chemeketa Community College, said. "Investing in employee development, specifically women's leadership development, has proven to positively impact retention and advancement."

The workshop will be facilitated by Jan Shannon and Judy Todd of The Dede Henley Group.

The Women Leading Women program will be held on the first Wednesday of the month from 1-5 pm at the YWCA of Salem.

Each group consists of only 12 participants and meets once a month for three-and-a-half hours of coaching. For more information on Dede Henley, visit dedehenley.com. Registration for the class is open now. The total cost, including materials and snacks, is $2,495.

On September 17, CEO of The Dede Henley Group and author of the course's source book "The Secret of Sovereignty," Dede Henley, will appear at Chemeketa's last Lunch and Learn seminar from 12 - 1:15 p.m. for a book signing.
