| Admission to each Garden University session is free for Garden members, and $6 for non-members (add $8 for Garden admission).
The Oregon Garden has announced two upcoming classes in its popular Garden University series. Garden University provides fun, educational programs throughout the year, with 2013 focusing on all things Do It Yourself. Topics will range from traveling to canning and floral arranging to bird watching, with each program led by a respected expert in the field.
The program kicks off on February 9 with Fascinating Travels with Paul Freed – Rwanda! Listen to local world traveler Paul Freed talk about his travels to Rwanda. The 1-½ hour program starts at 1pm in the Education Building.
Then on February 16, enjoy the Great Backyard Bird Count with Kris Wetherbee. Participate in the national Great Backyard Bird Count by learning about different types of birds and then venturing into the Garden to count what you see. The 1-½ hour program starts at 1pm in the Education Building. The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are. The 2013 event will take place February 15 through February 18.
Admission to each Garden University session is free for Garden members, and $6 for non-members (add $8 for Garden admission). Tickets to Garden University programs can be purchased by calling 503-874-8100 or at The Oregon Garden Visitor Center. Refunds on pre-paid tickets are available up to five days before the program. Become a Garden member to receive free lecture tickets, and discounted workshop tickets.
