The Keizer Heritage Museum will exhibit a display of signed children’s books from the collection of Gordeane Lane beginning March 1.
The two-month exhibit will feature some of the many books Lane collected during her long
career as a school librarian in Alaska. Many of the books in her collection were autographed by
the author the illustrator, or, in some cases, both. The books were signed when the authors and
illustrators came to speak to students under a program called “Authors to Alaska.”
Included in the exhibit are books signed by Jon Van Zyle, Peter Spier (Caldecott Award
winner), Joanne Ryder, Barbara Lavalle, and Gerald McDermott (Caldecott Award winner).
The Keizer Heritage Museum is open 2-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
on Saturdays. The museum is located in the Keizer Heritage Center at 980 Chemawa Rd. N.E.
