The next scheduled meeting of the Salem City Club will feature a debate between the two candidates for Oregon’s 5th District in the US House of Representatives. Kurt Schrader (D), the incumbent, and challenger Fred Thompson (R) will speak.
The City Club event will be held Friday, September 7, at 11:30 a.m., at the Willamette Heritage Center at Mission Mill in Salem. There will be a luncheon in addition to the debate.
The two candidates are competing in the General Election in November.
