Salem Weekly, working in collaboration with new Art Editor Helen Nute Wiens, announces Art Canvas.
“So often we hear that Salem doesn’t have an art scene,” Wiens says. “I disagree. Salem has an active art scene, and it’s getting bigger!”
Published every issue, Art Canvas is part of Salem Weekly’s expanded focus on the arts in our community.
Wiens, who creates artisan jewelry at her Calusa Studio, has set high goals. “I want Art Canvas to become an invaluable resource for local artists and patrons of the arts. Readers will regularly find information on: Call to Artists, events, art openings, volunteer opportunities, public art, and critical essays on the arts in Salem.”
