The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown – January 20

The story picks up with the sisters returning to their childhood home to care for their ailing mother and butting heads. The book’s blurb on the cover is “See, we love each other. We just don’t happen to like each other very much.”
Cypress House by Michael Kortya – January 24
Kortya is likely most known for his crime novels, but has recently taken a turn for the supernatural. In this book, he tells the story of a World War I Veteran who can foretell others deaths. The book takes place in the Great Depression era.
The Hidden Reality: Parallel Universes and the Deep Laws of the Cosmos by Brian Greene – January 25
Despite the long, complex title, Brian Greene’s new book is “for a broad audience … its only prerequisite the will to persevere.” It’s said to explain the science in such a way that a mainstream audience can participate in the debate.
Throat by R. A. Nelson – January 25
A young teenager girl is saved (in a vampire-ish roundabout way) from her death and is turned into a half-vampire girl. Or is she? She’s got the speed, the heightened senses, but no thirst for blood.
J. D. Salinger: A Life by Kenneth Slawenski – January 25
The “Catcher in the Rye” author was known for his reclusiveness and eccentricities. Some greater than fiction, but the rest entirely fiction. Slawenski takes a look at the life of Salinger – both in his work and his personal life.
The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern – January 25
This is the United States release of the United Kingdom version. It follows a 16-year-old girl in Ireland who is forced to move out of the country after her father’s suicide. In another supernatural twist for this week’s releases, she finds a book that tells her what is going to happen the next day. Of course, she uses it to change the future and figure out the mysteries in her family.
